Start your day early at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world. Admire its stunning architecture, intricate detailing, enormous chandeliers, and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet. Take a guided tour that provides insights into Islamic traditions and culture and explore the landscaped gardens.
Next, head to Qasr Al Watan, an opulent palace that was opened for public visits in 2019. Marvel at the intricate carvings, stunning design, and beautiful gardens, all of which reflect the art and heritage of the UAE. The palace also offers educational exhibits and multimedia experiences that highlights the country’s cultural past and present.
Dig into Emirati cuisine at Al Fanar, serving traditional homemade Emirati dishes and beverages that are carefully prepared with the best locally-sourced ingredients in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Don’t forget to try their signature dish – Machboos, a spicy rice dish with meat or fish and flavourful spices, and finish it off with a cup of Karak chai – a sweet and creamy spiced tea.
Post lunch, head to one of the largest shopping malls in the world, The Dubai Mall, to indulge in retail therapy or explore its many attractions. Visit the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, the VR Park, The Dubai Fountain, or go ice skating at the Olympic-sized ice rink.
End the day in style by witnessing the sunset from the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. Take the elevator to the observation deck on the 124th floor and soak in the breathtaking views of the city skyline. You can also take a tour to learn more about the construction of this iconic landmark.
If you have more time, you can add Ferrari World, Warner Bros World or the Louvre Abu Dhabi to your itinerary. If you're visiting during summer, make sure to carry sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. If you are pressed for time, you can remove Dubai Mall from the itinerary and replace it with City Walk or Global Village.
