Get up close to the Jet d’Eau, one of the most iconic symbols of Geneva, and watch as it shoots water 140 meters into the air. Take in the views of Mont Blanc in the distance.
Visit some of the world’s most important international organizations, such as the United Nations, the International Red Cross, and the World Trade Organization. Take a guided tour to learn about their history and mission and see some of their impressive buildings and grounds.
Explore Carouge, Geneva’s charming bohemian neighborhood, and discover its unique architecture, artisanal shops, and lively atmosphere. Take a break in one of the many cafés or restaurants and enjoy some of the city’s best food and drink.
Geneva has a well-developed public transportation system with buses, trams, and trains. A single ticket costs CHF 3, and a day pass is CHF 8. Taxis are also available for hire, but they are expensive. If you plan to visit several attractions or take a boat ride on Lake Geneva, consider buying a Geneva Pass, which includes free public transportation and admission to many museums and attractions.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Palace of Nations, the headquarters of the United Nations Office at Geneva, or taking a day trip to the nearby towns of Annecy or Gruyères. If you have less time, you can combine Days 3 and 4 into one day and skip Carouge, or skip the boat ride on Lake Geneva.
The main airport serving Geneva is Geneva Airport (GVA), which is located about 4 miles from the city center. It has connections to many cities in Europe, North America, and Asia, and is a hub for Swiss International Air Lines. The airport has good public transportation links to the city center, with frequent buses and trains available.
