Begin your day trip from Vancouver to Whistler early to have ample time to enjoy the scenic beauty on your way to your destination. You can drive or take a bus through the picturesque Sea-to-Sky Highway and stop for breaks at Bowen Island, Brandywine Falls, and Squamish before arriving at Whistler.
Hit the slopes and ski or snowboard through over 8,100 skiable acres of Whistler Blackcomb, North America's largest ski resort, that boasts of having terrain parks, bowls, glaciers, and over 200 marked runs. Ski rentals and ski lifts services are available.
Cross over the scenic valley and get a panoramic view of the mountains by enjoying a ride on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. The 360-degree view is breathtaking, and you can spot bears, eagles, and other wildlife from the gondola.
Head to Whistler Village, nestled at the foot of the ski resort, for a bite to eat or for some shopping at the local boutiques and galleries. You can grab a quick lunch or enjoy an elaborate meal at some of the village's restaurants.
Experience the rush of bobsleighing at the Whistler Sliding Centre, the sliding track used for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Not brave enough for the sport? You can also enjoy a tour of the venue and watch the professional athletes practising bobsleighing, skeleton, or luge.
Start your drive back to Vancouver, or catch a late-night bus from Whistler. You can also choose to stay overnight in one of the many accommodations available in Whistler and leave the next day.
If you have more time, you can add more activities such as cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and dog sledding.
If you have less time, you can skip the Peak 2 Peak Gondola or the Whistler Sliding Centre tour.
Remember to dress in layers and wear appropriate winter gear.
