Start your Yelagiri trip by visiting Punganoor Lake and Park. This scenic park is frequently visited for its serene lake, children's play area, and small aviary. Relax by the lake or take a paddle boat ride to feel the calmness of the surroundings. If you're traveling with kids, they'll love the swings and see-saws in the play area. Don't forget to try the famous "Yercaud special" fish fries and other street snacks at the park's entrance.
Continue the day with a visit to Jalagamparai Waterfalls. This 15-metre high waterfall is surrounded by mountains and lush greenery, and the perfect spot for a picnic with family and friends. You can also go for a swim or a quick shower under the free-falling water. Remember to carry comfortable footwear as the walk to the falls can be rocky.
Start your day with a visit to Swamimalai Hill. This scenic hill offers a panoramic view of the town and beautiful forests beyond. It is also home to a temple dedicated to Lord Muruga, popular among Hindu devotees. Enjoy the magnificent view of the Yelagiri hills from the hilltop.
End your Yelagiri trip with a visit to Nature Park. This 12-acre park has a wide variety of trees and plant species and is home to a mini zoo. You can also find a few sculptures, an artificial waterfall, and a fountain at different locations within the park. Take a walk through the natural vegetation, and enjoy the peace and quiet of the scenic locale.
If you have some more time, you can add a visit to the Yelagiri Adventure Camp (30 minutes from the Nature Park) for adventure activities such as zip-lining, wall climbing, and rope walking. However, if you have less time, you can skip Jalagamparai Waterfalls and add a visit to the Velavan Temple (20 minutes from Punganoor Lake and Park) or the Government Herbal Farm (20 minutes from Swamimalai Hill) for a quick tour of herbs and spices.
