The Ridge is a wide-open pedestrian-only space that offers amazing views of the surrounding mountains. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike and has various stalls selling souvenirs. Take a stroll and enjoy the beauty of Shimla. You can sit and relax here as well or go for a pony ride. Do not forget to take a picture with the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.
This is the second oldest church in North India and is one of the most recognized landmarks of Shimla. The Christ Church is known for its beautiful stained-glass windows which add to its serene surroundings. It’s gothic-tyle architecture is a sight to behold. It’s a peaceful place to take a break from the hustle-bustle of the city.
Scandal Point is located at the corner of The Ridge. The name’s origin is associated with a local story. King of Patiala fell in love with a British Viceroy’s daughter while coming here in 1892. This created quite a scandalous situation and hence was named Scandal Point. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset or simply get lost in nature’s beauty.
Kufri is a small town located about 12km from Shimla. It is most famous for its ski slopes which can be enjoyed during winters. You can go trekking here as well and enjoy the beautiful view. Head to Whispering Trees for lunch and enjoy their multi-cuisine offerings before taking a yak ride.
Mall Road is the main shopping area in Shimla. Take a stroll and experience the shopping culture of Shimla. The road is flanked by various shops selling Woollen clothes, Himachali handicrafts, and souvenirs. Do not forget to try out the famous Himachali Chana Madra in Krishna Bakery.
If you have more time, you can visit The Shimla State Museum which showcases the history and heritage of Shimla. For those interested in adventure sports, you can opt for river-rafting or trekking. If you have less time, you can skip Kufri and take a toy train ride, or just spend more time shopping and eating in Mall Road.
