Kozhikode, Wayanad Travel Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Explore Kozhikode
    Time and Distance: 19 minutes (10.5 km) from Calicut International Airport

    Start your day at the Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, which has numerous species of birds and a stunning view of the river Kadalundi. Spend a few hours here before moving on to your next stop.

    Next, head over to the Kozhikode Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in Kerala. Walk along the shore, try some local delicacies from the many food stalls, and watch the sunset.

    End your day at the Krishna Menon Museum, a museum dedicated to the great statesman of Kerala. Have a look around and learn about his life and times.

  2. Day 2: Wayanad Sightseeing
    Time and Distance: 1 hour 20 minutes (70 km) from Kozhikode Beach

    Start your day early and head over to the Edakkal Caves, a prehistoric site with petroglyphs and cave paintings. Enjoy the scenic hike up the hill to reach this unique location.

    Next, head over to the Chembra Peak, which is the highest peak in Wayanad. Hike to the top and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding hills and valleys.

    End your day at Banasura Sagar Dam, a large earthen dam that features a diverse landscape with islands and beautiful gardens. Enjoy some water activities at the reservoir before heading back to your hotel.
