Begin your journey by exploring the captivating ruins of Old Goa, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986. Visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the remains of St Francis Xavier. Head over to the Se Cathedral, one of Asia's largest churches and admire its architecture. You can take a guided tour of the ruins and gain an insight into the history of Goa.
Spend the day at one of the most popular beaches in Goa, Anjuna. Known for its hippie vibe and pulsating parties, Anjuna also offers water sports activities like jet-skiing, parasailing and banana boat rides. There are also numerous shacks on the beachfront serving delicious seafood and drinks.
Experience the refreshing beauty of nature at Dudhsagar Waterfalls, one of the highest waterfalls in India, located in the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary. You can trek to the foot of the falls, swim in the natural pool or take a jeep ride to the falls and enjoy a picnic by the streams.
End your trip with a visit to the 17th-century Fort Aguada, a Portuguese fort located on Sinquerim beach. Enjoy sweeping views of the Arabian Sea and learn about its history as a defence against Dutch and Marathas. You can also visit the lighthouse and explore the prison where freedom fighters were once held captive.
If you have more time, explore the Latin Quarter of Panjim, visit the Calangute Beach or take a sunset cruise on the Mandovi River. For shorter visits, consider dropping Dudhsagar Waterfalls from the itinerary. Please note that the peak season is from November to March, so expect longer queues and higher prices during this time.
