Begin your day at the iconic Gateway of India, an arch monument where you can enjoy a scenic view of the Arabian Sea. Take a 1-hour ferry ride from here to reach the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Elephanta Caves on Elephanta Island. Explore the ancient rock-cut temples and sculptures dating back to the 5th to 8th centuries AD. The ferry ride each way takes around an hour, so plan your time accordingly.
Start your day with a visit to the Shree Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the most popular and richest temples in Mumbai. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is one of the must-visit places in Mumbai. Afterward, head to Juhu Beach to enjoy a leisurely stroll on the sandy beach. Juhu Beach is also known for its street food such as bhel puri, sev puri, and vada pav.
Wrap up your trip by exploring the natural beauty of Mumbai at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which is home to over 1,300 plant species and 40 species of mammals. Don’t miss the wild tiger and lion safari. Afterward, head to the Kanheri Caves, located inside the park, to explore centuries-old Buddhist rock-cut caves.
If you have more time, you can visit the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and one of the busiest railway stations in India.
If you have less time, skip the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Kanheri Caves and spend a day exploring the famous Bollywood Film City instead.
