3-Day Madikeri Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20-minute (7.7 km) drive from Madikeri

    Abbey Falls is a stunning waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The waterfall height is about 70 feet and the view is breathtaking. The best time to visit the falls is during the monsoons when the falls are in full flow. There is a hanging bridge near the waterfall which provides the best view of the falls. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful picnic at the falls or enjoy some coffee at the nearby coffee estate.

  2. Day 2: Omkareshwara Temple
    16-minute (3.3 km) drive from Abbey Falls

    The Omkareshwara Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has a mix of Islamic and Gothic style of architecture. It is believed that the Shivalinga inside the temple was brought from Kashi and installed by King Lingarajendra II. Visitors can admire the intricate carvings and sculptures around the temple. There is also a fish pond near the temple which is considered sacred by the locals.

  3. Day 3: Madikeri Fort
    11-minute (2.6 km) drive from Omkareshwara Temple

    The Madikeri Fort is a historical fort built in the 17th century by Mudduraja. The fort has now been converted into a museum which houses artifacts related to the history of Kodagu. Visitors can admire the beautiful stone carvings and a large stone statue of a tortoise. The fort also has a beautiful garden where visitors can sit and relax. There is also a small temple inside the fort which is dedicated to Goddess Kali.
