Kalu Waterfalls is a breathtaking sight nestled in the Sahyadri mountain range with crystal-clear water cascading 120 feet downwards into a natural pool. Begin your adventure with a morning drive to the falls. After a short trek, you will reach the base of the falls. Take a refreshing dip in the pool or opt for rappelling and rock-climbing activities available on-site. After a day filled with adventure and nature, retire at a nearby hotel for the night.
Start the second day of your trip early to explore the serene beaches and historical forts of Ratnagiri. The Ratnadurg Fort, built by the Bahmani Sultanate in the 16th century, offers stunning views of the Arabian sea. After exploring the fort, take a dip in Ganeshghule beach, known for its soft sand and clear waters, or visit other nearby beaches. End the day by enjoying delicious seafood at one of the restaurants in Ratnagiri.
Harihar Fort, also known as Harshgad, is located at an elevation of 3,676 feet above sea level. The fort offers a blend of nature and adventure, with a steep trekking trail leading to panoramic views of the Sahyadri mountain range. Experienced trekkers can take the fort's vertical rock staircases to reach the top, but the trail is not recommended for beginners. Spend a few hours at the fort before making your journey back home.
If you have more time, add a visit to Pawna Lake for camping and water activities. If you have less time, skip Ratnagiri and explore nearby areas around Kalu Waterfalls or Harihar Fort. Always carry water and snacks during your treks and wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Check the weather forecast and opening hours of the places before planning your trip.
