Soochipara Falls, also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers while in Wayanad. The waterfalls offer a perfect blend of views, serene surroundings, and adrenaline-inducing activities. Come rain or shine, the beauty of the falls is simply breathtaking. Visitors have the opportunity to hike, swim, and take a dip in the natural pools at the foot of the falls. Soochipara offers a range of adventure activities such as zip-lining, rock climbing, and tree-top walks for those who want a more exciting challenge.
Chembra Peak is the perfect destination for hikers seeking an adventure. The trail to the peak is approximately 4 km long and takes about three hours to ascend to its summit at 2,100 meters above sea level. Hikers are rewarded with the most breathtaking views of the greenery and plantations surrounding the hills, as well as the Wayanad's vast expanse. Trekking up to the heart-shaped lake is one of the most beautiful and exciting things to do at the peak. Along the way, hikers can also spot wildlife, including deer, bison and wild elephants from a distance.
For those with an extra day, we recommend visiting the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to a variety of animals including elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. Visitors can opt for a jeep safari or explore the sanctuary through nature walks. The Edakkal Caves, an important Neolithic site, offers visitors a chance to explore ancient caves and to inspect ancient rock art. For those on a budget, we recommend visiting the Uravu Bamboo Grove to learn about the hand-crafting of bamboo products.
If you have less time, we suggest cutting down on either Soochipara Falls or Chembra Peak.
