This fort is a popular tourist attraction due to its complex architecture and ancient temples located inside the fort's premises. The Jalakanteshwara Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is one of the oldest temples in the fort and is known for its intricate carvings. The temple is an amazing example of Dravidian architecture and will blow your mind with its grandeur.

  2. Day 2: Government Museum and Amirthi Zoological Park
    30 minutes (15 km) from Vellore Fort

    The Government Museum in Vellore is a historical and cultural museum that showcases an exceptional collection of artefacts including bronze sculptures, paintings, handicrafts, and ancient weapons. Do not forget to check out the gallery showcasing photographs documenting the freedom struggle of India. At Amirthi Zoological Park, get closer to nature and a variety of wildlife including deer, peacocks, and porcupines. You can also go for a short trek to the Amirthi forest, which is a part of the Eastern Ghats, and you can spot waterfalls during the rainy season.
