The trek might be challenging for the elderly or individuals with health conditions.

  2. Day 2: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
    1 hour 30 minutes (43.5 km) from Chembra Peak

    Head to the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary to experience the untouched beauty of nature. The sanctuary boasts of a diverse range of flora and fauna and is home to some rare and endangered species. Take a jeep safari tour which will take you through the dense forest crisscrossed by streams and waterfalls. Observe a variety of animals like elephants, tigers, deer, and leopard in their natural habitat. You can also opt for a nature walk to explore the sanctuary on foot. The sanctuary has strict timings, so plan your visit accordingly.

It is best to visit the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary during the early morning or late afternoon to have a better chance to spot wild animals. If you have less time, you can skip the trek to Chembra Peak and visit Soochipara Falls, which is a great picnic spot and less strenuous to visit.
