Spend the morning hiking to the Soochipara Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in Wayanad. Take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding dense forests. In the afternoon, drive to the Meenmutty Falls, the largest waterfall in Wayanad, hidden in the lush forests. Take a short hike to reach the cascading waterfall which falls in three tiers.
In the morning, head to the Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary and take a jeep safari to spot elephants, tigers, leopards, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Kuruva Island, a serene and isolated island spread across 950 acres of verdant forest. Cross the river on bamboo rafts or jump into the river from one of the many rocks to cool off.
Take an early morning trek to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. Admire the stunning views of the surrounding valleys and the heart-shaped lake on the peak. Spend the afternoon at the scenic Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India. Enjoy a speed boat ride or trek to the nearby hills for beautiful views of the dam.
Visit the prehistoric Edakkal Caves, a series of natural caves with ancient petroglyphs, situated on top of a hill. The trek to the caves offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, head to the Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary for a jeep safari to spot elephants, deer, tigers and other wildlife. Learn about the local vegetation, gaze at the exquisite scenery and be amazed at the thrilling wildlife.
If you have more time, explore the Wayanad Heritage Museum to learn about the region's history and culture, or visit the Sultan Battery View Point for a stunning view of the surrounding valleys.
If you have less time, skip the Edakkal Caves and spend more time at the Chembra Peak or Banasura Sagar Dam.
