Lake Brienz is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and forests. Take a boat ride to admire the scenic views or go for a swim or a paddleboat ride. Visit the Giessbach Waterfalls, a series of ten cascading waterfalls, and hike the nearby trails in the forest.
Travelers will need to take a train or bus to reach Jungfraujoch and Lake Brienz. The Jungfrau Railways train costs CHF 200-250, and the bus costs about CHF 3-5 per ride. Travel time is about 1 hour to Jungfraujoch and 15 minutes to Lake Brienz.
If you have more time, consider visiting Harder Kulm, an Alpine mountain with great views of Interlaken, or take a day trip to Grindelwald, a charming village with excellent hiking trails. If you have less time, skip Lake Brienz and spend more time exploring Jungfraujoch.
The nearest airport to Interlaken is Bern Airport (BRN), which is about 50 km from the city center. Zurich Airport (ZRH) and Geneva Airport (GVA) are also options, but they are farther away.
