Wake up early to go on a guided 5 km trek to watch the sunrise from a peak. Start your hike at 4.30 am and make your way through lush green tea plantations. Seeing the sunrise while surrounded on all sides by green hills is an unforgettable experience. Bring snacks and water to fuel your adventure.
If you have extra time, you can visit the Mattupetty Dam, which is a 2-hour drive from Kollukumalai Tea Estate. You can also take a detour to see Meesapulimala or Anamudi Peak, but they require a separate guide and transportation. For those with less time, you can skip the trek and visit the viewpoints near the tea estate, such as the Suicide Point or the driving viewpoint overlooking Kannan Devan Hills.
