Mercouri Estate Winery is a family-owned winery that has been producing wine for over 150 years. Visitors can take a tour of the vineyards and the winery and taste various wines. Prices for the wine tasting range from €8 to €20 per person.
Katakolon Port is a charming seaside town with restaurants, cafes, and shops. Visitors can stroll along the port and enjoy the sunset. Make sure to try some fresh seafood at one of the local restaurants.
Since the attractions are spread out, it's recommended to rent a car to get around. Prices for car rentals start at around €30 per day. It's also possible to hire a taxi driver for the day, which costs around €150. The total travel time for the itinerary is approximately 8 hours.
If you have more time, you can visit other beaches such as Agios Andreas Beach or Zacharo Beach. You can also visit the Chlemoutsi Castle or the Temple of Apollo Epicurius. If you have less time, you can skip the Mercouri Estate Winery and spend some more time at the beach.
Katakolon does not have its own airport. The closest airport is the Araxos Airport (GPA), which is located in Patras, approximately 60 km from Katakolon.
