The Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 834.16 sq. km and houses tigers, elephants, panthers, black panthers, leopards, deer, and antelopes. Embark on a guided tour through the lush green forests, and if you're lucky, you might spot a few animals. The park remains closed during the monsoons, so plan your trip accordingly.
The Syntheri Rocks are a unique natural wonder that has been formed due to volcanic activities. The rocks are made of basaltic columns, which can reach up to 300 feet in height. You can enjoy trekking, nature walks, and bird watching while you take in the beauty of the rocks and the surrounding forests. The park remains open from 10 am to 5 pm, and you need to take prior permission to visit the park.
If you have more time, you can also add the Molsoni Wildlife Sanctuary to your trip. It's a lesser-known sanctuary that's home to a variety of endangered species, including hornbills and vultures. If you have less time, you can skip Syntheri Rocks and visit the Kavala Caves instead. The caves are a unique limestone formation and provide a refreshing break from the heat. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks while you're walking through the parks.
