Start your day early at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a popular landmark in Kanyakumari. It is accessible only by ferry. From the Memorial, you can witness an amazing view of the surrounding sea and the statue of Swami Vivekananda. The ferry ride takes approximately 15 minutes one way. After that, visit the Thiruvalluvar Statue, which is situated next to the memorial. The statue of Thiruvalluvar stands at a height of 133-feet and is a well-known tourist spot. You can reach the statue by a ferry boat which will take approximately 20 minutes one way. Please note that both the Memorial and Statue are closed on Mondays.
On your second day, visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace, located in the town of Padmanabhapuram. This palace was once the home of the former rulers of Travancore and is an excellent example of traditional Keralite architecture. The palace is open every day except Mondays and is open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. After the palace, head to the Suchindram Temple, which is one of the oldest and most significant temples in the area. The temple houses a unique trinity of Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Brahma. The temple is open every day from 4:00 am to 11:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you have extra time, consider visiting the Gandhi Memorial, Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam, and the Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Amman Temple. These places are popular tourist attractions in the area. If you have less time, you can skip either Padmanabhapuram Palace or Suchindram Temple and add other nearby attractions in the itinerary. Make sure to carry a valid photo identification proof with you while visiting the monuments. Always check for the opening and closing times of the places before visiting.
