Start your trip with a visit to the Alappuzha Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Alleppey. The beach has beautiful sunsets and sunrises, with a long shoreline that stretches out to the Arabian Sea. You can enjoy a camel ride or rent a bike from one of the shacks and explore the beach.
Experience the backwaters of Alleppey with a scenic houseboat tour. Sail through the narrow canals, and witness the serene scenery of the palms, colourful birds and local residents along the backwaters. The tour also includes traditional Kerala meals served on banana leaves.
Finish your trip with a visit to the Alleppey Lighthouse, which stands tall on the southwest coast of India. It was built in 1862 and still stands as a silent sentinel to the city. The staircase inside the tower leads to the top where visitors can get an excellent panoramic view of the sea, harbor, beach and the surrounding city.
If you have extra time, you can explore the Krishnapuram Palace, a museum dedicated to the cultural heritage of Alleppey or visit the Arthunkal Church, one of the oldest churches in India. If you have less time, skip the Alleppey Lighthouse, and add a visit to "Pathiramanal Island," known as the 'Sands of Midnight' and is a serene and picturesque island located on the backwaters of Alleppey.
