Explore the prehistoric Edakkal Caves, which contain ancient petroglyphs and are widely believed to have been inhabited in the Neolithic era. After a steep trek up to the caves, visitors will be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Hike to the top of Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The trek to the heart-shaped lake halfway up is an easy one, and from there the trail becomes challenging. It's worth it when you reach the top though, which offers panoramic views of the lush landscape below.
The Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India and is surrounded by beautiful hills and a serene lake. Take a boat ride, go zip-lining, or simply relax and enjoy the scenic views.
The Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary houses a variety of flora and fauna, including elephants, tigers, and leopards. Take a wildlife safari through the sanctuary to get up close and personal with the animals and their habitats.
If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the Soochipara Waterfalls, or exploring Thirunelli Temple. With less time, consider skipping one of the attractions and extending your stay at another.
