Start your family adventure in Yelagiri at the Punganoor Lake and Park - a beautiful lake surrounded by greenery and flowers. You can go boating in the lake or enjoy a picnic by the waterside. The park also has a children’s playground, perfect to keep the little ones entertained.
Set out for the Jalagamparai Waterfalls early in the morning. The scenic beauty and the sound of water cascading down the mountains is a feast for the senses. The waterfalls offer a great opportunity to paddle in the cool waters, to relax and sunbathe on the rocks and to embrace the bountiful nature. Be sure to carry packed lunch and enough drinking water if you want to spend more time.
End your family tour with a visit to the Nature Park and Telescope Observatory that provides a unique insight into the beautiful flora and fauna of the region and boasts a wide range of exciting interactive exhibits for children and adults. The Observatory also provides stunning views of Yelagiri and allows you to marvel at the stars and planets from a high-end telescope.
If you want to add some extra activities to your itinerary, you can go for trekking at Swamimalai hills or visit Amirthi Zoological park. Alternatively, you can replace one of the suggested activities with one of these. Also, if you have less time, you can skip the Nature Park and Telescope Observatory and instead visit the Murugan temple or the Government herbal park.
