Start your adventure with a trip to the Athirappilly Waterfalls, located at the entrance of the Sholayar Range. This breathtaking waterfall is about 80 feet high and provides a stunning view of the forested areas of the Western Ghats. You can take a dip in the cool waters or go trekking in the lush greenery. The falls are open daily from 8 am to 5 pm.
On day 2, head to the Periyar National Park, a vast protected area located in the Western Ghats. You can go on a jungle safari or a bamboo rafting ride and spot animals like elephants, tigers, and various species of birds. The park is open daily from 6 am to 6 pm.
For your last day in Kerala, visit the Vagamon Hill Station, located in the Idukki district. It's an ideal place for trekking, paragliding, and rock climbing, amidst the valleys, tea plantations, and pine forests. The hill station is open daily from 6 am to 6 pm.
If you have more time, consider visiting the Fort Kochi neighborhood for its colonial-era landmarks, or the Wayanad district for its serene nature reserves. If you have less time, skip Periyar National Park to focus on the other two locations. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes, light clothing, and insect repellent for outdoor activities.
