Start your trip at Mullayanagiri, the highest peak in Chikmagalur. The peak offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Trekking to the peak takes around 3 hours and is suitable for all levels of fitness. The serene beauty of the landscapes is sure to keep you mesmerized. The trek to the top of the peak takes approx an hour and a half, but the view from the top is wholly worth the effort. After the hike, take a break for lunch at the small eateries located at the base of the peak.
Continue your expedition to Hebbe Falls, a magnificent waterfall nestled amidst the dense forests of the Western Ghats. The falls are located at a distance of 10 kilometers from Kemmanagundi, and the eruption of water from a height of 551 ft is an extraordinary sight. Hebbe Falls is also famous for its medicinal herb garden, which is known for its healing properties. Spend your time relishing the beauty of nature and enjoying a refreshing shower under the waterfall.
Start your second day by visiting Kemmanagundi, a picturesque hill station situated at a height of 1434 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by lush green hills and valleys. The place is famous for its beautiful garden, rose garden, and Shanti falls. Take an early morning stroll through the beautiful garden and enjoy the chirping of birds while taking in the fresh air.
Continue your expedition to Baba Budangiri, a famous pilgrimage site known for its ancient Shiva and Dattatreya temples. The peak is named after a Sufi saint, Baba Budan, and is situated at a height of 1895 meters above sea level. The mountain range is perfect for trekking and also provides a breathtaking view. After the trek, visit the historical shrine and relish a hot cup of coffee at the famous Mullayanagiri Coffee Estate.
If you have additional time, you can visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy Darga, and the Coffee Museum. If you have less time, consider skipping Hebbe falls or Kemmanagundi.
