Start your bachelorette party by exploring Ohrid Old Town that is located directly on the shores of Lake Ohrid. Begin by visiting the Ohrid Fortress, a medieval castle that offers picturesque views of the city and Lake Ohrid. Then, walk to the Church of St. Sophia, a 1000-year-old church that is one of the oldest and the most important churches in Macedonia. For lunch, head to Kaneo Restaurant, located near the church and offers one of the best views of Lake Ohrid. In the afternoon, visit the Antique Theatre of Ohrid, the ancient Macedonian amphitheater that was built in the 2nd century BC.
On your second day, take a day trip to the Bay of Bones Museum, an experimental archaeological open-air museum on the southern coast of Lake Ohrid. The museum contains reconstructed pile-dwelling settlements from the Bronze and Iron Ages, and you can explore these neolithic houses including collections of ceramics, tools, and weapons. On the way back, stop at St. Naum Monastery, located at the south end of Lake Ohrid and has beautiful walkways through the nearby woods. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in Ohrid Lake which is one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe and perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
If you have more time, consider visiting Plaoshnik, the archaeological site that contains the ruins of the first Christian church in Macedonia and the Ohrid Bazaar, a place to buy traditional Macedonian products. If you have less time, we recommend skipping the Bay of Bones Museum and spending more time on the shore of Lake Ohrid while taking a boat trip on the lake for scenic views.
