For lunch, head to Coorg Cuisine, a popular restaurant serving authentic Kodava cuisine. You can try dishes like pandhi curry (pork curry), koli curry (chicken curry), kadambuttu (rice balls), and bamboo shoot curry, all made with local ingredients.
After lunch, visit the Madikeri Fort, a historic fort built in the 17th century. You can see the ancient weaponry, old photographs, and sculptures on display here, along with a small museum showcasing the history of Coorg region. The fort also has a stunning view of the surrounding hills.
The beautiful Omkareshwara Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a unique mix of Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture. You can witness the daily puja (worship) rituals and seek blessings from the deity. The temple also has a small pond with fish that are considered sacred.
End the day with some shopping at the Madikeri Market, known for its spices, coffee, handicrafts, and Coorgi silk sarees. You can indulge in some retail therapy and pick souvenirs for your loved ones.
