Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a sprawling 240-acre garden featuring rare plants of French, Persian and Afghani origin, along with centuries-old trees and an ornately designed glasshouse which is a sight to behold. One must visit the garden in the morning to see the vibrant hues of the flowers at its best.
Dating back to 1791, this palace is an architectural marvel with teak pillars, frescoes, and embellished walls. The palace comprises five stories and is adorned with intricately carved arches and balconies that provide a glimpse into Tipu Sultan's life. One can also see a small museum showcasing the king's belongings on the ground floor.
Modeled on the lines of the Windsor Castle, the Bangalore Palace boasts of elegant wooden carvings, gothic windows, turrets, and fortified towers. Spread across 45000 sq.ft, the Palace has paintings, pictures, and antique furniture that belonged to the Wodeyar dynasty. The sprawling grounds around the palace are perfect for picnics or a relaxed evening.
Sprawling over 300 acres, the Cubbon Park is an oasis of greenery amidst the bustling Bangalore city. There are several avenues to explore within the park- the State Archeological Museum, Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall, and the high court complex. The park provides an ideal spot to relax, spend some moments of peace or to take a long walk in the evening.
For those who have less time, they can consider skipping Tipu Sultan's Palace or pick either Bangalore Palace or Cubbon Park. Those who have more time can include visiting the Bannerghatta National Park, located at a distance of about 22 km from Bangalore, and host to a variety of flora and fauna.
