Srisailam is one of the most popular pilgrimage centers in southern India, and it’s also a great spot for adventure seekers. Visit the Srisailam Dam, an excellent spot for enjoying a serene boat ride. Take a flight of steps to reach the Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of Lord Shiva. You can also take an adventurous trek to the Akka Mahadevi Caves, which are said to have been built by a saint in the 11th century.
Start the day by exploring the ancient Mahanandi Temple and experiencing the therapeutic waters of the hot springs, believed to contain medicinal properties. Then head towards Yaganti Temple, known for its unique and magnificent Nandi statue. Continue to explore the temple complex and witness the Kalyana Mandapam, Sanku Kunda, and Akasha Ganga waterfall inside the temple complex.
Begin with Ahobilam Temple, famous for its nine Narasimha avatars. Explore the nine different unique temples through adventurous treks in the hills and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Don't forget to check out the fantastic suspension bridge that connects the two hilltops.
If you have extra time, we recommend extending your trip by visiting the Belum Caves in Kurnool. The caves are a geological wonder that stretches over three kilometers of fascinating limestone formations and stunning underground passages. We suggest adding an additional day for the Belum Caves. If time is tight, you can skip the Akka Mahadevi Caves or Yaganti Temple. Also, remember to carry comfortable shoes and clothes and stay hydrated throughout your adventure to enjoy it fully.
