4-Day Nature Getaway in Mettupalayam and Ooty

1. Day 1: Mettupalayam

   Time: 10am - 6pm
   Distance: 12.5km from Mettupalayam Railway Station | 35 minutes by car

   Beat the heat at this amusement park with thrilling water rides and a wave pool. You can also enjoy some dry rides and indulge in some street food.

2. Day 2: Ooty
   A: Botanical Gardens
   Time: 7am - 6:30pm
   Distance: 35km from Mettupalayam | 1 hour and 20 minutes by car

   Spread across 55 acres, the Botanical Gardens showcase a vast collection of exotic plants and trees. Get lost in nature and take a stroll around its lush green lawns, fern house and Italian garden.

3. Day 3: Ooty
   A: Ooty Lake
   Time: 9am - 6pm
   Distance: 3.3km from Botanical gardens | 10 minutes by car

   This large artificial lake is perfect for a picnic with breathtaking views. You can go boating, paddle-boating or just simply enjoy the views surrounding it. Tip: Don't forget to try the local street food sold by the vendors around the lake.

4. Day 4: Ooty
   A: Doddabetta Peak
   Time: 7am - 6pm
   Distance: 10km from Ooty Lake | 20 minutes by car

   Located at an altitude of 2,623 meters, travel to the top of Doddabetta Peak which provides a panoramic view of the entire Nilgiri mountain range. You can't afford to miss the views of sunset and sunrise from the top!

Useful Tips

If you have more time, you can visit the nearby Pykara Lake, Avalanche Lake or trek to the Lamb’s rock viewpoint. If you have less time, skip the Black Thunder Water Park and spend more time at the other locations. Also, keep in mind that the monsoon season (June-September) is low on tourist traffic but sometimes tourist spots remain closed due to heavy rainfall.
