The fort showcases a significant part of Tamil Nadu history and Tamil Nadu always had a unique system to defend its borders with fortress and walls, forts, etc.
Kamarajar Lake is a new lake constructed across Marudhanadhi River in the year 1959. The lake serves as an excellent picnic and boating spot for tourists. It is spread over an area of 5.5 square km, and its depth is about 19 feet. The beautiful surroundings of the lake provide tranquillity and calmness away from the bustling city.
Sirumalai Reserved Forest is a dense forest range situated atop the Sirumalai hills in Tamil Nadu. It is home to various species of flora and fauna, including tigers, elephants, and exotic birds. If you are an adventure lover, you can set your camping tents in the forest reserve's eco-tourism cottages. There are many trekking trails in the forest reserve itself, and you can also plan your hike on the Sirumalai hills.
If you have more time, you can opt for visiting the temples around Dindugal, namely Kottai Mariamman Kovil and Kalahastinathar Temple. You can also go for a cave exploration activity at Guano Hills, which is 19 km from Kamarajar Lake. However, if you have less time, you can skip visiting one of these spots but do not miss out on the other ones.
