Begin the day by exploring the 17th-century Portuguese fort, Fort Aguada, which was built to defend the coast against Dutch and Maratha invaders. Take a guided tour and learn about its interesting history. Afterward, head to Baga Beach, which is known for its pristine white sand and clear waters. Enjoy parasailing, banana boat rides, and other water activities or relax on the sun loungers. In the evening, head to the nearby shacks and indulge in the delicious seafood.
On the second day, head to Dudhsagar Waterfalls, which is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River. Enjoy a scenic train ride from the Sonaulim Railway Station to the falls, and then take a dip in the refreshing waters. Afterward, head to the vibrant Anjuna Flea Market, which offers a great shopping experience with a wide range of products, including handicrafts, clothing, jewelry, and more. End the day by watching the beautiful sunset at Anjuna Beach.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to other famous beaches such as Calangute and Miramar. You can also visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you have less time, you can skip the Anjuna Flea Market and spend more time at Baga Beach or other beaches. Make sure to bring sunscreen and dress appropriately for the conservative culture.
