Start the day with a visit to the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in Kerala. Spread over 280 sq. km, it is home to tigers, elephants, leopards, and many other species of animals and birds. Take a guided tour of the reserve and learn about the flora and fauna of the region. End the tour with a refreshing swim in the picturesque Parambikulam Lake.
Head to the beautiful Nelliyampathy Hills, known for their scenic beauty and pleasant weather. Drive along the winding roads and enjoy the spectacular views of the Western Ghats. Visit the Seethakundu viewpoint to catch a glimpse of the valley below. Take a walk through the orange and tea plantations and learn about their cultivation. End the day with a visit to the Pothundi Dam, a popular picnic spot.
If you have more time, you can also visit the Nenmara Vallanghy Vela Festival, a popular cultural festival held in February. If you have less time, you can skip the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve and spend more time exploring the Nelliyampathy Hills. Don't forget to carry warm clothing as the weather can get chilly in the hills.
