Additionally, the temple is situated on the banks of the Swarnamukhi River which can offer you serene and tranquil views. The temple also houses a huge stone Nandi bull and other beautiful sculptures.
Chittoor is a small town known for its delectable Andhra delicacies. Head to the Gongura Chicken restaurant which is a local favourite for its lip-smacking gongura chicken. If you're vegetarian, try the authentic and scrumptious Andhra Thali at the local eatery.
Puligundu Hills, situated in Chittoor, offers a breathtaking view of the verdant hills and the scenic beauty of the nearby town and river. Trekking on the hills is yet another adventurous activity that one can indulge in while admiring the encompassing views. The drive up the hill with the rich aroma of eucalyptus and pine fills the lungs with freshness and rejuvenation.
If you have more time, spend an additional day in Srikalahasthi to explore more temples and indulge in the local street food. One can also go temple hopping in the nearby towns of Tirupati and Tirumala. If you have less time, skip the dinner at Chittoor and return to Chennai after visiting Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple.
