From Delhi to Manali: 4-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Explore Shimla
    Shimla is about 6 hours away from Delhi

    Start your trip to Manali with a visit to beautiful Shimla. Shimla's old-world charm contrasts with its modern attractions. Visit the Christ Church, a beautiful ancient landmark surrounded by magnificent colonial structures; Scandal Point, a famous meeting place near The Ridge; and, Mall Road, one of Shimla's busiest thoroughfares.

  2. Day 2: Enjoy Kullu Valley’s Nature
    From Shimla to Kullu Valley, the travel distance is about 215 km and 6 hours long

    Head to Kullu Valley, a nature lover's paradise. Visit Jogini Waterfall, a hidden gem in the middle of a dense forest; Solang Valley's panoramic views and adventure sports options; and, lastly, the Great Himalayan National Park, which is home to a variety of flora and fauna.

  3. Day 3: Adventure in Rohtang Pass
    From Kullu to Rohtang Pass, the drive is about 4 hours and 51 km

    Head out early in the day to make the most of Rohtang Pass. The pass is open from the months of May to November. Activities include snow skiing, snow biking, and paragliding. Do wear warm clothes, since the temperature may dip suddenly.

  4. Day 4: Explore Manali’s Culture
    Rohtang Pass to Manali is 51km and a 2-hour drive

    Spend your last day exploring Manali's cultural landmarks. Visit the ancient Hidimba Temple and appreciate the unique architecture of the wooden temple. Afterwards, head to the Van Vihar National Park, a lush green park surrounded by the magnificent hills. Round off your day with a walk along the colourful Manali Market.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, consider visiting Manikaran, a famous pilgrimage site, as well as the Naggar Castle and the Rohla Waterfalls. If you have less time, you can skip some of the more distant destinations, such as Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley. Remember to pack plenty of layers and warm clothes since the weather can be unpredictable in the region.
