Kochi, Kerala: A 3-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fort Kochi
    30-minute (10 km) drive from Cochin International Airport

    1-hour (25 km) drive from Fort Kochi to Cherai Beach and 30-minute (13km) drive from there to Hill Palace Museum

    Start your day with a relaxing visit to Cherai Beach, an untouched, tranquil beach famous for its pristine sand and clear water. Soak up the sun, indulge in a variety of water sports or sip on some coconut water, cherishing the beauty of nature. After the beach, visit the Hill Palace Museum, a former royal residence exhibiting an amazing collection of artefacts from antique ceramics to royal furniture, weapons, and numismatic collections. If you are a nature lover, you can take a walk around the beautiful Hill palace garden and enjoy watching an array of colourful birds and butterflies.

  3. Day 3: Mattancherry and Vypeen Island
    30-minute (10 km) drive from Fort Kochi to Mattancherry and a 30-minute boat ride to Vypeen Island

    Today, start at Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, showcasing typical Kerala architecture and beautiful murals and artefacts. Then, head over to Jewish Synagogue, featuring rare antiques and divine relics of centuries-old heritage. After exploring the magnificent Synagogue, stroll along the streets lined with colourful old buildings built-in colonial style. At the other end of the city, take a boat ride through the serene backwaters to Vypeen Island, escape the city buzz and experience the slow pace of village life in Kerala, walk along the shoreline of the island, relishing the scenic beauty and tasting some of the mouth-watering delicacies like seafood.
