Start your day with a visit to Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, known for its lush green forests, rich flora, and fauna. You can spot animals like elephants, tigers, deer, and many more in their natural habitat. Don't forget to carry along binoculars and a camera to capture memories. The sanctuary opens at 8:00 am and closes at 4:30 pm.
A visit to Wayanad is incomplete without hiking up to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in the district. The breathtaking views, the heart-shaped lake, and the trek itself make the trip worth it. The peak entry is open from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, and the trek will take around four hours to complete.
Soochipara Falls, also known as Sentinel Rock Falls, is a mesmerizing waterfall amidst the lush green beauty of Wayanad. It's believed to be around 100-metre high and has a pool at its base where you can swim and relax after the long trek. The falls open at 9:00 am and close at 5:00 pm.
You can add more to your itinerary by visiting the Edakkal Caves, Banasura Dam, or Pookode Lake. However, for a shorter trip, you can skip Chembra Peak or Soochipara Falls. Do carry comfortable shoes, light clothes, and sunscreen for your trip.
