Spread over an area of 492 sq km, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to experience the wilderness. With a diverse range of flora and fauna, it is home to tigers, leopards, elephants, spotted deer, and various species of birds. You can opt for a jeep safari or a nature walk to explore the sanctuary. You can also enjoy some water sports activities like kayaking, jet-skiing, and boating on the Bhadra reservoir. Don’t miss out on visiting the beautiful Bhadra Dam which offers a spectacular view of the reservoir and surrounding hills.
If you have more time, you can include a visit to the coffee plantations in nearby Chikmagalur. You can also explore the quaint town of Kalasa and visit the Kalaseshwara temple, which is an important pilgrimage center for the Hindus.
If you have less time, you can skip Kudremukh National Park and explore the nearby Hebbe Falls in Kemmanagundi, which is a short drive from Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Alternatively, you can spend a relaxed day exploring the town and trying out some local food and coffee.
