1. Day 1: Explore the history and culture of Kannur

   Start your day by visiting the St. Angelo Fort, an iconic landmark that is around 500 years old. This fort is also called Kannur Fort and was built by the first Portuguese Viceroy of India, Don Francisco de Almeida. You can spend a couple of hours here exploring the barracks, the lighthouse, and the underground tunnel.

   Next, head to the Arakkal Museum which is around a 30-minute drive (9 km) from St. Angelo Fort. This museum is dedicated to the only Muslim royal family of Kerala, the Arakkal family. You can find various artifacts and objects related to the family here.

   Drive to Muzhappilangad Beach, the only drive-in beach in Kerala, which is about a 45-minute drive (18.5 km) from Arakkal Museum. Here, you can enjoy the scenic beach, go swimming, or indulge in some water sports like parasailing or kayaking.

   End your day by visiting the Payyambalam Beach. It is the perfect place to watch the sunset and relax. You can also indulge in some seafood at the restaurants located nearby.

2. Day 2: Connect with nature and art in Kannur

   Start your day by heading to the Aaralam Wildlife Sanctuary, which is about 45 minutes (22.7 km) from Payyambalam Beach. This sanctuary is home to various animals like elephants, leopards, and tigers. You can go on a jungle safari and see them in their natural habitat.

   Next, drive to the Moppila Bay, which is about a 45-minute drive (31.2 km) from Aaralam Wildlife Sanctuary. This bay is an art lover's paradise, with various street artists showcasing their works. You can take a stroll along the beach and enjoy their art.

   Head back to the city to visit the Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple, which is about a 45-minute drive (19.8 km) from Moppila Bay. This temple is dedicated to Muthappan, a popular deity of North Kerala. You can witness various performances dedicated to the deity and also enjoy the traditional Kerala cuisine served here.

   End your day by visiting the Kannur Lighthouse which is around a 30-minute drive (16.3 km) from Parassinikkadavu Muthappan Temple. This lighthouse was built in 1903 and offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea and the surrounding areas.

Useful Tips
