Soochipara Falls, also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Wayanad. The waterfall is surrounded by evergreen forests and is a great place for nature lovers. Visitors can also take a dip in the cool waters of the pool at the base of the falls.
Edakkal Caves are two natural caves located on top of a hill. The caves have prehistoric rock paintings that are said to be around 8000 years old. The hike to the top of the hill is steep but worth it for the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Kuruva Island is a group of islets in the middle of the Kabini River. It is a protected area and home to a variety of flora and fauna, including many rare species of birds and butterflies. The island is accessible only by boat, and visitors can take a dip in the river or go bamboo rafting.
Banasura Sagar Dam is the largest earthen dam in India and a popular tourist spot in Wayanad. The dam is surrounded by mountains and forests and offers some spectacular views. Visitors can enjoy a boat ride on the dam or go trekking in the nearby hills.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Thirunelli Temple, which is a beautiful temple located in the middle of the forest and is a great place for a spiritual retreat. If you have less time, you can skip Kuruva Island and spend more time exploring the other places on the itinerary.
