Ladakh Nature Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Pangong Tso Lake
    4 hours (141 km) from Leh

    A serene high-altitude lake that will leave you awestruck with its everchanging shades of blue. If camping is your thing, set up a lakeside camp to enjoy the stunning view and starry night sky.

  2. Day 2: Nubra Valley
    4 hours 30 minutes (120 km) from Pangong Tso Lake

    A desert valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Spend the day exploring the sand dunes via camel safari or ATV ride, visit the Diskit Monastery and hot springs, and end your day at Hunder, the famous village of double-humped Bactrian camels.

  3. Day 3: Hemis National Park
    3 hours 30 minutes (125 km) from Nubra Valley

    Home to the snow leopard, the park is a must-visit for wildlife enthusiasts. Take a guided trek to spot wildlife such as bharals, ibex, and wolves, plus beautiful birdlife and breathtaking landscapes.

  4. Day 4: Tso Moriri Lake
    7 hours (215 km) from Hemis National Park

    A high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks and home to various migratory bird species. Spend the day enjoying the scenic beauty, bird watching, and a chance to interact with the Changpa tribe.

  5. Day 5: Shanti Stupa
    5 hours (158 km) from Tso Moriri Lake

    One of the best spots to view the sunset. Climb up the stairs to the stupa, and take in the majestic view of the city and surrounding mountains. Bonus points for visiting during a full moon night.

Useful Tips

If you have more time, add a day at the Alchi Village and Monastery (2 hours from Leh), famous for its 11th-century murals. Alternatively, subtract a day from Tso Moriri if you're short on time. Note that most attractions require a permit, so make sure to obtain one beforehand.
