Start the day with a visit to the Sim's Park, a botanical garden that houses several species of plants and trees. The park also has a beautiful rose garden and a children's play area. After spending time at the park, head to the scenic Ooty Lake for boating and other water activities. The lake offers breathtaking views of the hills surrounding it. Spend the rest of the day enjoying the natural beauty of the lake and its surroundings.
On the second day, start with a visit to one of the many tea estates in Coonoor such as the Highfield Tea Estate, which offers tours of its tea factory and tea-tasting sessions. After learning about the process of tea-making, head to Lamb's Rock, a viewpoint that offers panoramic views of the Nilgiri Hills. The drive to Lamb's Rock is scenic, and there are several small shops selling souvenirs and local snacks on the way. Spend the evening enjoying the views of the vast valley and the surrounding hills.
If you have additional time, include a visit to the Droog Fort in your itinerary. The drive to the fort is scenic and the fort has several interesting features. If you have less time, you can skip the tea estate or Lamb's Rock. Avoid visiting Ooty Lake on weekends as it is very crowded. Prepare for the weather as Coonoor tends to be cold and windy, especially in the evenings. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket or a shawl.
