Visit the picturesque Hebbe Falls, nestled amidst the dense forests and coffee plantations of the Western Ghats. The falls are accessible only by jeep, which is an adventure in itself. Take a dip in the clear waters of the falls and relax amidst the serene ambiance. Next, visit Hirekolale Lake and enjoy the peaceful environment around the lake, surrounded by beautiful hills and lush greenery. You can also try boating, or take a stroll near the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Head towards the Kudremukh National Park, known for its dense forests, lush green valleys, and breathtaking waterfalls. Witness the diverse flora and fauna of the park, including species like tigers, leopards, monkeys, and deer. Next, visit the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to over a hundred species of animals, including tigers, leopards, elephants, and various species of birds. Take a jeep safari through the sanctuary and you may be lucky enough to spot some of the wildlife.
Visit the beautiful Coffee Plantations in Chikmagalur and learn about the history of coffee in India. Take a tour of the plantations, stroll around and enjoy the beautiful scenery, and also try some freshly brewed coffee. Finally, head back to Chikmagalur Town and visit the famous temples like Sharadamba Temple and Sringeri Mutt and explore local markets to purchase some local handicrafts.
If you have more time, consider visiting other nearby attractions like the Belavadi and Halebidu. These two destinations have amazing temples of historical significance. If you have less than 4 days, consider dropping attractions depending on your preference. Note that Chikmagalur is well-connected by buses, however, it can get crowded during peak seasons, hence consider booking private taxis for a hassle-free trip. Also, carry warm clothing as it can get chilly in the evening.
