Start your day with a visit to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, a beautiful Victorian mansion that was once the summer retreat of the British Viceroy. Then, head to the Jakhu Temple, perched atop the highest peak in Simla. It's a steep climb, but the breathtaking views of the city and the Himalayas from the top are worth it!
Check out from your hotel in Simla and make your way to Manali. On the way, stop at the Kullu Valley, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and adventure activities like river rafting. Reach Manali by late afternoon and check-in to your hotel. Spend the evening at the Van Vihar National Park, a scenic park with a beautiful lake, surrounded by deodar trees.
Start your day with a visit to the Hadimba Temple, a shrine dedicated to the wife of the Pandava Bhima, from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Then, make your way to the Solang Valley. Beautiful snow-capped mountains, crystal-clear water bodies, and greenery all around make this place a must-visit when in Manali. End your day at the Manu Temple, a sacred place with a unique architecture and a peaceful vibe.
If you have more than four days, we recommend adding a visit to the Rohtang Pass, which opens from May to November and offers stunning views of the Himalayas. If you have less time, skip the Kullu Valley and the Van Vihar National Park. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, carry warm clothes as temperatures can drop suddenly, and stay hydrated by drinking lots of water.
