Start your trip with a journey to Bhitarkanika National Park, one of the most biodiverse places in Odisha. Take a boat tour to witness the beautiful mangrove forests and spot some of the endangered species such as saltwater crocodiles and Olive Ridley sea turtles. You can also visit the nearby villages and learn about the local fishing and agriculture practices.
Get ready for another day in the lap of nature at Simlipal National Park and Tiger Reserve. Take a safari through the dense forest to spot some of the endangered animals such as Royal Bengal Tiger, Indian bison, and Asian elephant. Make a pit-stop at Joranda Waterfall and enjoy a relaxing dip in its natural pools.
For the last day of your trip, head towards the largest brackish water lake in Asia, Chilika Lake. Take a boat ride in the lagoon and observe the unique species of migratory birds such as flamingos and pelicans. Explore the nearby villages and indulge in delicious seafood and buy local handicrafts as souvenirs.
If you have more time, you can add a visit to the Konark Sun Temple or Gahirmatha Beach, known as a nesting ground for Olive Ridley turtles. If you have less time, you can skip Simlipal National Park and spend an extra day at either Bhitarkanika National Park or Chilika Lake. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and insect repellent, wear comfortable shoes and light clothes, and carry enough cash as most places don't accept cards.
