3-Day Laka Glacier Trek Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Reach Bhyundar Village
    Departing from Joshimath (7:00 AM, 65km), estimated time: 2 hours

    Start your day early and hire a taxi to Bhyundar Village, the base camp for Laka Glacier trek. The journey will take you through beautiful villages with scenic views. Once you arrive in Bhyundar, check-in at a local guest house and rest for a while.

  2. Day 2: Laka Glacier
    Departing from Bhyundar (6:00 AM, 5km), estimated time: 3-4 hours

    After an early breakfast, start your trek to Laka Glacier. The trail is moderate, and you can spot many species of birds and small animals on the way. You can take a break at Sarutal, a small glacial lake, before proceeding towards Laka Glacier. Once you reach, enjoy the stunning views of glacier and surrounding mountains. Return trek to Bhyundar village in the afternoon.

  3. Day 3: Visit Auli
    Departing from Bhyundar (9:00 AM, 25km), estimated time: 1-2 hours

    After breakfast, check-out from the guest house and hire a taxi to Auli, a popular ski destination. Take a cable car ride to reach the highest point in Auli, from where you can see magnificent views of Himalayan peaks like Kamet, Mana Parbat, and Nanda Devi. You can also enjoy a skiing session or just relax and enjoy the scenic beauty.

If you have less time, you can skip the visit to Auli and return to Joshimath after the Laka Glacier trek. Alternatively, you can extend your trip by a day and go on a camping expedition near Laka Glacier.
