Start your day with a trip to Velliangiri Mountains, known for the Sri Subramanya Swami Temple. It is a 4-hour trek to the top, but the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains make it all worth it. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is believed to be the site where he gave lessons on spirituality to his father, Lord Shiva. Spend some time here in the calm and immerse yourself in the spirituality of the temple.
In the morning, visit the beautiful Siruvani Waterfalls, which are located in the dense forest surrounding the Siruvani Reservoir. The falls originate from the Western Ghats and offer stunning views of nature's beauty. You can swim in the cool water at the foot of the waterfall and enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Anaikatti.
If you have more time, consider adding a visit to the Marudamalai Temple, located at the foothills of the Western Ghats. The temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and has an ancient history of worship. You can also take a jungle trek in the nearby Silent Valley National Park to see a variety of flora and fauna!
If you have less time, you can cut short your visit to the Velliangiri Mountains and instead spend more time at Siruvani Waterfalls, its still an essential point of interest.
