Useful Tips

One day can never be enough to explore Munnar completely, so it's best to arrive in Munnar the day before and stay the night to explore the nearby spots in the morning. The ideal time to visit Munnar is between September and May. It's a great idea to carry a sunhat or an umbrella as the weather can be unpredictable. Avoid travelling during monsoon season (June to August) if you can, as the roads can be precarious due to heavy rainfall.

If you have extra time, consider visiting other nearby places like Echo Point, Top Station, Attukal Waterfalls, and Tea Estates. If you have less time, consider skipping Mattupetty Dam and Kundala Lake altogether. Since this itinerary includes a lot of travelling, renting a private vehicle would be better, but if you opt for public transportation, make sure to check the schedules and timings beforehand.
