Start your adventure at Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, one of the best-preserved wildlife habitats in India. Explore the biodiversity of the elephants at Topslip Elephant Camp, where you'll learn about the conservation efforts being made to protect these gentle giants. Observe the impressive tuskers, and you'll fall in love with the highly intelligent, playful pachyderms. Leave midway through the day and head to the Aliyar Dam which is surrounded by a beautiful garden and offers stunning Valley views. Here, you can boat on the serene waters of the reservoir, walk across the dam bridge, or watch the beautiful sunset into the Western Ghats.
For more adventure or time, you can book an overnight camping stay at Parambikulam. You can opt for bamboo rafting in the Vengoli Kuttimalai hills or visit the Kannimara Teak, the oldest and largest known teak tree in the world. If you have additional time, you can visit the Valparai Hill Station, which is about 50 km northeast of the Tiger Reserve.
