Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is a trekker’s paradise with unique vegetation and rocky terrain. The sanctuary has a variety of wildlife including crocodiles, deer, and leopards. Trek to the top and take in the stunning view of the surroundings. Visitors can also witness the Marayoor jaggery and Chinnar honey-making processes. Best visited in the morning and early afternoon to avoid the heat.
Experience the charismatic beauty of Pollachi’s coconut groves, where one can observe the process of oil extraction. Enjoy a walk through the farms and savor some Kerala snacks. End your trip by visiting the Aliyar Dam, which offers stunning views of the serene blue waters and greenery. Visitors can take part in boating, fishing and photography.
If you have extra time, visit other popular spots such as Topslip Tiger Forest, Koolangal River and Parambikulam National Park. To shorten your itinerary, eliminate either the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary or Coconut Groves & Aliyar Dam. Keep in mind that the Anamalai Tiger Reserve is open from 6 AM to 6 PM but the others have varying opening and closing times.
