Exploring Honavara in Three Days

  1. Day 1: Kadamba Fort

    The Idagunji Ganesha Temple attracts thousands of devotees every year and is known for its unique architecture. The temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Ganesha, is believed to have been built in the 8th century and is home to a 600-kg Ganesha idol. The temple is surrounded by lush greenery and is an excellent place to soak in some local culture and traditions.

  3. Day 3: Shirur Park
    20 minutes (9.3 km) from Idagunji Ganesha Temple

    Take a stroll at Shirur Park in Honavara, also known as Shri Krishna Park, amidst lush trees, a fountain, and manicured garden beds. The park is an ideal family hangout spot with amusements like swings, slides and spaces for children to play outdoor games. The evenings are aglow with lights, music, and some street-side food.

If you have an extra day, then visit Anshi National Park, known for its rich biodiversity and is situated about 50 km from Honavara. Beach lovers can head to Gokarna Beach, located about 112 km from Honavara, for an overnight stay. If you have less time then you can skip the Shirur Park visit or combine a half-day trip of both Kadamba Fort and Idagunji Temple.
